What is therapy?
If you have been searching for a therapist for a while, I'm sure you have noticed a million different acronyms out there, such as CBT, DBT, MBT, etc. While there are many different therapeutic approaches and techniques, therapy is ultimately a process where we build a relationship, discuss the issues that are affecting your life, and explore ways of surmounting the barriers getting in your way.
How long will therapy take?
Therapy can last from a few sessions to much longer. It depends on what issues you are facing, what goals you want to accomplish, and whether you think therapy is helping. I believe discussing the effectiveness of therapy and creating/moving towards accomplishing goals are an important part of this process. Bottom line, I don't want to waste your time or money. I want you to get the help you need.
Do you see clients in person?
Currently, I am only conducting Telehealth therapy, and this won't change for the foreseeable future. When I do return to the office, I will be providing clients with the option to come in or continue Telehealth therapy as long as it is clinically appropriate.
What insurance do you take?
I am an out of network provider, so currently I do not accept insurance. Clients pay me in full directly. Many people have out of network benefits which will reimburse a significant amount. In these cases, I will gladly provide the documentation you'll need to file these claims.
What are your fees?
I charge $100 for a 45min session. I bill at the end of the month and ask to be paid by the following week. I accept payment electronically through Zelle, or I can charge a credit card for a small surcharge. I realize that for most people $100 is not an insignificant sum. This is an investment of your time, energy, and finances.
What are the next steps?
Message me through email, voicemail, or text message.
I will respond to you within two business days so that we can work out a day and time to meet for a consultation. The consultation is an opportunity for us to start to get to know each other, to discuss some of the issues that are troubling you, and if and how therapy might be helpful.
Before we meet for our consultation, I will ask that you complete an intake form.
